The penultimate interview with Claire Ray

This interview was the basis of the quotes for our Chicago Penultimate preview article.  Enjoy.

Chicago Maroon: What are you looking to do at the penultimate?

Claire Ray: At this point in the season we are just looking to improve our marks and get as many people as possible to nationals. I still need to throw discus farther which I really hope will happen this weekend. Its nice to have the home field advantage and hopefully a crowd can come out from summer breeze to cheer us on.

I am also hoping to have the penultimate performance.

CM:Is the team still working on a normal practice schedule or is it tapering for championship season at this point?

CR:Tapering hasn’t hit yet but it will soon. We have one more week of heavy lifting then its tapering for nationals

I am also lifting penultimately right now, but plan on transitioning to lifting on a less ultimate level prior to nationals.
Will you be able to go to summer breeze? Haha maybe. Sucks they are on the same weekend but maybe we can still make the concert.

Man, it would be the pen-ULTIMATE if I could go to summer breeze.

CM:Any comments on your final home meet?
CR:Ultimately, I think this meet will be the best for everyone.  If you interviewed me the real way, you might have to use a PEN to write them down.  Like an ultimate pen.  To write down my penultimate quotes.
