Phone streaming

We want you to be able to follow the Maroons wherever you are. And if you have an iPhone or Android phone (or certain other smartphones), now you truly can.

iPhone: We have found an iPhone app — called “Internet Radio Box” — that can stream our live broadcasts. This app costs just $1.99.

Visit the Internet Radio Box page in the iTunes store.

Here’s how to listen once you have downloaded the app:

1. Open it up and click on “Favorites.”
2. Click “Edit.”
3. Click “Add stream.”
4. Type http://stardust.wavestreamer.com:7655 as the stream URL. You do not have to edit any other information.
5. Click “Save.”

If we are broadcasting live, you will be able to click on that stream you created to listen. We expect that you should be able to get smooth audio whether you are on the EDGE, 3G or WiFi networks. Please let us know your experience at gomaroons@gmail.com.

Note: We highly recommend that you are running iOS 4, which is available by connecting your iPhone to iTunes and updating the software. This will allow you to run the audio in the background. Otherwise, click the + sign in the app to enable background streaming.

Android: We have found software that should enable you to listen to our stream on your Android phone. The software is called xiaalive, which costs $3.99. Type http://stardust.wavestreamer.com:7655 as the stream URL. (Note that we don’t have an Android phone to test this on, but please send us your experiences.)

Blackberry: Newer models (such as the Bold) should be able to pick up our stream. It’s worth trying on any smartphone you might have. Simply type http://stardust.wavestreamer.com:7655 into the web browser and click “open” if presented with the “open | save | cancel” screen. Please let us know what luck you have with this.
